Sub-Division for the Town of Stark
The next Town of Stark Zoning and Planning Board meeting wil be held Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at the Town of Stark Courthouse building in Starkville. The purpose of the the meeting is to review a simple sub-division of lands located entirely in the rural agricultural distrct of the Town of Stark, between J. King and John Sprague. The properties in question adjoin each other. The meeting is scheduled for 7:00 PM. No other topics are on the agenda for this particular meeting.
Joint meeting of the Town Board and the Zoning and Planning
A puic hearing on Local Law # 2-2025, titled "A Local Law consolidating the Town of Stark Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals into the Zoning and Planning Board of the Town of Stark" was held on June 10, 2025 and continued on July 8, 2025. After additional discussion regarding the local law., the public hearing was closed and further discussion was had by the Town Board and additional amendments were made. A motion was made to adopt, with changes, and was approved by a 3-2 margin. The Local Law # 2-2025 will become part of the Land Use Regulations and Sub-Division Regulations of the Town of Stark. The potential changes to Land Use Regulation in regards to the Junk Storage, Town of Stark Local Law # 3-2025. After a public hearing on July 8, 2025, the Local Law # 3-2025 was adopted, and will be a part of the Land Use Regulations of the Town of Stark. The complete Local Law is listed below. The discussion of the enhancement of the rules and regulations regarding excessive junk and unregistered and abandoned self propelled vehicles on private property are incorporated in the new regulations.
The Town has been approached by T-Mobile about using an existing tower on Barker Road in the Town of Stark to enhance reception locally for their cell phones. T-Mobile is leasing the location and tower space. The Town has issued a building permit for the project and it will be built this summer building season. The T-Mobile tower is complete and should be operational in the near future.
The Verizon Tower located on Puskarenko Road is complete. A problem with the drilling and placement of the electric poles for transmitting electricity and the fiber optic wires for the site has been corrected, according to Tectonic representative Nate Keenan.
