Zoning and Planning Information for the Town of Stark.
The next Town of Stark Planning Board meeting will be held Monday, January 27, 2025, at the Town of Stark Courthouse building in Starkville. Major topic of discussion is the continuing joint meeting of the Town Board and the Town of Stark Planning Board with the Town Attorney and with public participation regarding the Moratorium. The meeting will begin at 7:00 PM. The potential changes to Land Use Regulations, Solar Law and Wind Law will be the major topics for discussion. The topic for discussion includes the potential creation of an Over-lay district for protection of the Water source feeding the public water supply for the Hamlet of Van Hornesville. There will be a public hearing January 14, 2025 regarding extension of the moratorium for another three months to the end of April, 2025. This is to allow for the time-frame necessary in the Land Use Regulations to amend the Local laws already in place. The joint board has also discussed the possibility of combining the Planning Board and Zoning Board into one board. Discussion will be ongoing regarding this topic. All topics are open for discussion. There will be no votes at this time.
The Town has been approached by T-Mobile about using a tower on Barker Road in the Town of Stark to enhance reception locally for their cell phones. T-Mobile is leasing the location and tower space. The operation is very preliminary, and will be discussed further.
